Friday Pic: Malta's Eye

Throughout our lives, we visited many places, beaches, mountains, cities and often the smallest details go unnoticed. Today's Friday Pic is about a special eye, a small symbol that you can find on the island of Malta.

Bathed by the Mediterranean sea, Malta has some unique boats that stand in the fishing ports: the Luzzu. Traditional small boats are colorfully and still used for fishing, thanks to their endurance and quality of its wood.

In the part of the bow, all the boats have a symbol of protection and good luck: the Eye of Osiris. Like other Mediterranean countries, this custom dates back to the Phoenician era and endures today.

Would you come with me to the Maltese port of Marsaxlokk to discover these strange ships?

Happy Friday!
